Why do we Sell both SHORT and LONG adapter leads for race Receivers?
Choosing the Right Adapter Lead
There are a couple of reasons for the different adapter lead options — primarily based on how the driver prefers to use the radio.
Short adapter leads are designed for drivers who wear their radios, such as keeping it in their pocket or on a belt.
Long adapter leads are intended for setups where the radio is mounted in the car. The cable can be routed along the driver’s seat belts, allowing the driver to simply plug their helmet in when entering or exiting the vehicle. This setup is often easier and more convenient during race conditions.
Whichever solution best suits your needs, ensure the correct adapter is used. The motorsport earbud standard uses a mono connector (as shown below). If you’re using third-party earbuds, you must use either a stereo cable or a mono-to-stereo adapter — both of which we can supply. To help you identify your needs, please see our additional information.
